How long does the carpet cleaning process take?
We are able to clean approximately 40 square meters per hour. This can vary slightly depending upon the amount of soil, how much furniture needs to be moved, speciality spotting procedures, and setup time.
How soon can I walk on the carpet?
Try to keep pets, children, and heavy traffic off the carpet during the drying process. Some carpets may feel slightly damp for up to 12 hours depending on the carpet and soil conditions. This is normal and will not cause any problems.
Do you move furniture?
All of our cleaning packages include moving the majority of furniture in the main living area. (Most companies will charge you extra for this service.) Beds, dressers, and heavier pieces are left in place under these pricing structures due to health and safety/liability reasons. Compromises can usually be reached upon a day of cleaning.
How often should a carpet be cleaned?
Your carpets should be cleaned annually to minimize the cleanliness of them. For homes with children and pets, the process should be done every three months.
No doubt this question has surfaced at one time or another during the years you've owned carpeting. The frequency of cleaning will vary from one household to another depending upon the number of occupants and level of usage. At a minimum, you should clean once a year.
We have had some home owners express their fear that once the carpet is cleaned, it will re-soil quicker. This fear is the result of improper cleaning by other cleaning companies. Many of these companies, in an effort to cut costs and save time, buy the cheapest cleaning solutions & don't provide the proper training for their technicians.
The fact is, the best thing you can do for your carpets is have them regularly cleaned by a qualified professional carpet cleaning company. It is the buildup of soil that promotes wear to your carpet, far more than the foot traffic that travels on the surface of the carpet. How many days in advance I need to call in order to book?
It is preferable to call us at least 2 days in advance.
Can I change the day and the time of the cleaning?
Yes, you can do that, but in order to avoid the cancellation fee, you need to call or send us an e-mail 48 hours before the actual cleaning.
Do you have a cancellation fee?
Yes. The cancellation fee is equal to the minimum charge $70. It will apply if you cancel the cleaning in 48 hours before the appointment or if we are not able to access the premises.
Do you need a deposit?
No
What are your working hours?
We are working 7 days a week and there are no extra charges for the weekends. Our cleaning appointments start at around 08:00 in the morning and 4-5-6:00 in the afternoon, but our Steamdry carpet cleaners are flexible and if there is any need we can make exceptions. Sometimes our cleaners work 24 / 7 based on our clients’ needs.
Do I have to pay for the parking?
You need to provide parking space for our cleaners’ car. If it’s not free of charge, you need to cover the expenses for the spot and any congestion charges if applicable.
And what if you damage the carpet?
We are fully insured, if by any chance something is damage, we will cover the expenses.
How long is it going to take my carpet to dry once professionally cleaned?
Although drying is kept to a minimum, it is going to take at least a couple of hours for your carpet to dry.
How much does carpet cleaning cost?
All carpet cleaning jobs are different. Every room is not the same size. Heavy soiled carpets may cost more.
Do carpets get dirtier faster once cleaned?
No. This is strictly a myth. Once a carpet is cleaned, it takes a while for it to get dirty again due to the chemical residue that's left behind on it.
Is there a good time of year to clean my carpets?
There is and that time of year is spring. Spring cleaning helps to keep the air quality in your home good while getting all of the bacteria out of your carpets left over from winter.
What are the warning signs that a carpet needs cleaned?
Of course heavy stains are major indicator that your carpeting needs cleaned, but if you find the air quality in your home to be poor, you're going to need a cleaning. Yes. It's better to have your carpets cleaned annually, but sooner than later if you notice the two issues.
What about pet problems and odors?
Your carpeting can get destroyed very easily by pets. Both dog & cat urine, as well as feces, can make your once clean carpeting dirty and useless. A professional cleaning company can remove the fecal matter as well as grounded in urine smells & stains.
Are there dust mites, germs, and other types of pollen in my carpeting?
Carpeting absorbs everything from crumbs to dust. Anything outside that can be brought in usually makes its way on the carpeting as well. This stuff combines to make one big mess festering in your carpeting.
Can I rent a carpet cleaning machine and do it by myself?
Yes. You can totally rent a machine, but you're not going to be able to get into the depth of the carpet like a professional can. Also getting out stains is not going to be as easy as you may think it is.
If I walk on the carpeting before it is dry, will it create bigger problems?
The only thing that's going to happen is your feet are going to get wet.
Why carpets should be cleaned?
Ten years of research and everyday experience, showed that carpets should be cleaned. Dust, microorganisms and pollution tend to be deposited on flat surfaces, such as furniture, the floor, or the carpets.
Vacuum cleaners suck only a small part of dust and particles. Carpets have the ability to store microorganisms in depth, and imprison stains, which cannot be removed without thorough cleaning. Therefore, it is not an overstatement to say that carpets can be pollution sources.
How long will it take for my carpet to dry?
Drying time depends on humidity levels, air flow to the room(s) cleaned and the type of carpet. In general, turning on your air conditioning or heating system (depending on the time of year and your location) will help speed the process. While it typically takes between 2 and 24 hours for the carpet to dry, you can walk on it as soon as we are finished (just remember to remove street shoes first to avoid re-soiling).
Won't water ruin my carpet?
Modern carpet technology is basically water resistant, and approximately 95% of the limited amount of water used in our cleaning process is removed by an industrial-strength vacuum.
Do I need to move my furniture before the crew arrives?
Our crews are professionally trained to move your furniture, and return it to its rightful place when cleaning is completed. However, there are several items we will not move, such as: pianos, electronics, china cabinets, waterbeds, large beds, dressers with mirrors, pool tables, etc. We do suggest you remove items off of your furniture like plants & lamps.
Do I have to be at home while my carpet is being cleaned?
It is not necessary that you be home while your carpet is cleaned because our technicians are thoroughly trained professionals you can trust. In order to provide the best possible service, we do recommend that someone is home before we begin cleaning to discuss any specific needs or areas of concern regarding the care of your carpet.
So how often should I have my carpets cleaned?
Your carpet should be professionally cleaned once every year to 18 months, even if you vacuum regularly. Professional carpet cleaning extends the life of the carpeting and contributes to better air quality, reducing allergies and illness.
Considerations increase the frequency rate: indoor smoking, children, pets & allergies are some factors to consider when determining the ideal frequency for your home. Most of our clients are serviced every 6-12 months.
